1. Pattern Practice
Complete each sentence with the correct particle, expression, or ending.
- わたしは音楽 ___ 好きです。
- 木村さんは料理 ___ 上手です。
- 漢字が少し ________。
- フランス語が全然 ________。
- 今日は時間がたくさん ________。
- 日本の映画が好きです ________、日本語を勉強します。
2. Use the Grammar
Read the two original learner profiles. Write four sentences about each person. Include one preference, one skill, one degree of understanding, and one sentence with あります.
リンさん
- Likes: jazz
- Skill: cooking — good
- Japanese: a little
- Saturday: an appointment
キムさん
- Likes: baseball
- Skill: singing — not very good
- Japanese: mostly
- Saturday: a lot of time
Then choose one profile and write a question with どうして. Create a reasonable answer ending in から using only grammar from Lesson 9 or an earlier lesson.
3. Speak or Write
Make a five-to-seven-line self-introduction or conversation about interests and learning. Include:
- one sentence with 好き or 嫌い;
- one sentence with 上手 or あまり上手じゃありません;
- one sentence with わかります and a degree word;
- one question with どうして; and
- one reason ending in から.
