Complete each sentence with the most suitable particle or word from this lesson.

2. Use the Grammar

Write one complete Japanese sentence for each prompt.

1. Say that you cut paper with scissors.
2. Ask how to say “Thank you” in Japanese.
3. Say that you lent a book to a friend.
4. Say that you received a present from Ms. Kimura.
5. Ask whether someone has already written an email, then answer “Not yet.”

3. Speak or Write

In each panel, speak as the person marked by the star. Describe the direction of the flowers, gift-wrapped book, or money with あげます, もらいます, or 借ります. The arrows show the movement, but you must choose the sentence from the starred person’s viewpoint.

Then make a four-line conversation of your own. Include one sentence with a tool followed by で and one question with もう Vましたか. Respond with either もう Vました or まだです.
